Essay / Creative Writing: Cell Phone Kidnapping - 1577
"You, Dad?" I momentarily forgot that he was not at the police station, but with his mother and child in his kitchen. He asked Kate for help, but the detective found the situation rather amusing, as did his mother. “Well, you know…because I’m always hot?” » He said, although it sounded more like a question than a statement. “Oh, okay,” Alexis said, buying into her impromptu lie. His mother greeted him with her glass of wine, as if to say, “Sure, kid.” Rick focused again on the task at hand, lowering the temperature of the burner, then placing the bacon. Sure enough, he didn't need to avoid oil burns. He looked at the detective, who looked far too smug for his liking. “I would have figured it out eventually.” "You're welcome," Kate said smugly, making her mother laugh. While he finished cooking, Martha set the table with the help of Kate and Alexis. The two redheads sat down once the meal was finished and Kate offered to help bring the food to the table. She couldn't believe that Castle was actually capable of behaving for more than 5 minutes. And she didn't want to think about the awkward goodbyes with Castle. I had a good time, she repeated in a mocking voice in her head, what was wrong with her? "Hey Kate, wait. Your phone." Castle's voice broke her out of her thoughts, she saw him running towards her. Luckily the elevator door wasn't closed, so she positioned her arm so they wouldn't. "Thank you" She smiled, she had totally forgotten why she was there in the first place. She was sure there was a psychological explanation for why she had forgotten, but she certainly wasn't going to analyze that. She put her phone in her pocket and with one last look at Castle, the elevator doors closed and officially ended the weirdest, most fun time she'd had in a long time...
