Education is held in the highest esteem when it comes to deciding whether or not to pursue a career in the field of forensic science, so much so that master's degrees and even doctorates have been added to academic programs in the worldwide to better serve those pursuing a career in forensic toxicology. In total, a person wishing to pursue a career in toxicology must complete approximately four to eight years of graduate school. Another qualification that may be necessary is licensure in the state where you are seeking employment and possible experience in a clinical laboratory. Forensic science is a field where the more practical experience is accumulated, the better the chances of being chosen for a position.
