Essay / Research Paper on Christianity and Mormonism - 1536
Christianity Vs. MormonismI am a Christian. I have always wondered and been curious about other religions, particularly Mormonism, since they also call themselves “Christian”. If you stop and think for a minute and see that there are about 33% Christians (banks) and about 15,000,000 Mormons in the world ("facts"). That's a lot of people who are Christians and Mormons, or maybe they just talk and don't act. Wouldn't you like to know more about these two religions and why so many people are involved in them? Mitt Romney was running for president a few years ago, and he was even a Mormon! It is very interesting to learn more about these religions. There are many controversies between Mormonism and Christianity. Some questions are...Who is Joseph Smith? How were Mormonism and Christianity born? How is God real? Are all the stories in the Bible true? And many more. Some say that Christianity and Mormonism are a cult, but with the Book of Mormon and the Holy Bible, the truth can be revealed. What is Christianity? Christianity began in the mid-1st century. The religion is based on Jesus Christ. Jesus was present in many stories in the Bible. One of them is that Jesus was the Son of God and was placed by God on this earth as a man. He was sent by God to die for our sins so that we could be free, forgiven, and have eternal life. After Jesus died for our sins, he resurrected three days later and then ascended to heaven (“Christianity”). “He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised again for our justification” (New International Version, Romans 4:25). Many people around the world wonder: what happens when we die? According to Christianity, if...... middle of paper ......lts? Or maybe none. There is evidence all over the world that proves some things in the Bible and the Book of Mormon are true, but we don't really know everything. It's like most things in life. For example, we see Taylor Swift and some people say she's the best singer and some people don't. In the end, it all depends on your opinion. And yes, there are a bunch of people who follow these religions (like me), and that shows that if that many people believe this, then it's probably true. In reality, all that matters is having faith, trusting, and believing what you want to believe. Mahatma Gandhi said: “To believe in something and not live it is dishonest.” Life is a sum of your choices, do whatever makes you happy and enjoy life! I am a Christian myself and have a relationship with Jesus. I am faithful to God and I also enjoy my life every day.
