Designers Past, Present and Future – Mission DT Textiles By Dana Pickens (VHL)Designers Past: The Industrial RevolutionThe Industrial Revolution had a great impact on politics, society and economy. The Industrial Revolution caused urbanization, as most people lived in rural areas before the revolution, when many people moved to the city, leading to the growth of cities. This was due to the increase in employment brought by the revolution, which consisted of working in factories close to the city. People also moved to the city because it was where water and railroads were located, which helped with the marketing of finished goods, and the city was also used for banking and marketing. The Industrial Revolution also changed living standards, as people in industrial towns generally lived in cheap, crowded tenements, while people in mining towns generally lived in rows of identical houses. This poor standard of living was due to poor bricks and a lack of public sanitation machines. The industrial revolution also gave birth to the working class. This class referred to anyone (men, women, and children) who was an industrial worker in mines, pottery factories, and textile factories. People like artisans were also degraded into this class, as new machines mass produced products, replacing people. The industrial revolution also had an economic impact. The industrial revolution really changed employment. The new machines that were invented replaced people who did it by hand, making these jobs non-existent. However, these machines needed people to operate them, which created new jobs. The machines needed energy which usually came from coal, which had to be extracted, which created even more jobs. Even though there were more jobs, the job was very ... middle of paper ... did not specify any qualifications required. In this advert, the position described requires someone with experience using a sewing machine, laying and cutting fabric. The person the company is looking for is productive, hardworking, motivated, pays attention to detail, wants to learn and has good time management skills. The job offer does not specify any required qualifications. I think the most important criteria is being an experienced sewing machinist, as the ad mentions this several times and it seems like the job is centered around using the machine. So you need to know how to use it. A new process used in an industrial sector / The commercial framework in textiles is 3D printing
