    Many people assume that the book and movie of the same story are still very similar, but they are incorrect. Comparing Rudyard Kipling's short story Rikki-tikki-tavi and the film Rikki-tikki-tavi, I found them rather different. There were many minor differences, but the three main topics of the short story that clearly differentiate it from the film are the setting, character traits, and use of humor. The setting of the film differs from that of the short story in a few ways. The film's setting delves into more detail in many scenes, such as in the scene at the start of the flood. The flood scene that takes place in the film reveals a strange and strong storm with a flood that resembles a river and flashing scenes of ancient Indian statues, while in the story Rudyard Kipling clearly states that there is had a flood. Personally, I also felt like Rudyard Kipling tricks you into thinking that many settings appear one way, but they don't in the film. Some specific examples of these settings include home and garden.
