  • Essay / Global warming causes climate change - 551

Global warming is the increase in the Earth's atmospheric temperature. Natural gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, ozone and water vapor trap the sun's heat, preventing it from leaving the atmosphere. These natural gases, along with human-made hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), are collectively known as greenhouse gases. This essay will explain why global warming is quickly becoming a cause for concern and why preventative measures are being taken. Global warming is caused by many factors, but the most common way is electrical pollution. While greenhouse gases occur naturally and keep the planet warm enough to support life, excess gases produced by humans through industrial byproducts trap additional heat and hold it in the atmosphere. According to Larry West, “Scientists have determined that a number of human activities contribute to global warming by releasing excessive amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide accumulate in the atmosphere and t...
