Dwight David Eisenhower, also known as "Ike", was the 34th President of the United States. Ike was elected on January 20, 1953 and left on January 20, 1961. He was born on October 14 in Denison, Texas, then died on March 28, 1969 in Washington DC. After he was born in Texas, he and his family moved to Abilene. Kansas, the Eisenhower family was poor but Ike worked throughout his childhood to earn money. He was the third of seven children, they were all raised by David Jacob Eisenhower who was a mechanic and manager, and Ida Elizabeth Stover, who was a religious pacifist. He did his chores as he was asked to do around the house, he had a passion for hunting and fishing, while he played baseball and football. Ike graduated from Abilene High School in 1909. Eisenhower then married Marie "Mamie" Geneva Doud in 1916. The family traveled both for pleasure and to revisit the sites of a past of great success. He had a great passion for what he loved to do until his death. He was president, planned wars, and was a full-time father, president, and husband. After two years of odd jobs after leaving high school, he was appointed to the Naval Academy, but he was too old to attend. In 1910, he went to a meeting at West Point. Eisenhower was not a good student but not a bad student, he was an average student at the academy, when he entered the military community he surprised them with exceptional abilities. he got hurt a lot while playing sports, so he was going to have to leave the army due to injuries. Ike ranked 61st out of 164 in his class of 1915. During World War I, he was a training instructor and training center commander. He wasn't very educated in middle school and high school, but he obviously got to where he was quite intelligent, he could debate anything, and he stayed calm so he wouldn't get frustrated with people when hard times came. Ike kept us out of most possible wars, he protected us, he ended most things with war. After leaving the position of president, he was still active and doing what he loved to do with his family. He went fishing, hunting and yet worked on the farm with Mom. If it wasn't for his health problem he would have continued running, but he had to go because of his heart, but he never gave up, he continued to fight for what he he loved, at the right moment he said it was his time.
