Contrary to the above, teachers need to examine the disadvantages of using drama to teach literature. Disadvantages include: Embarrassment among learners' peers. Not all learners are drama students and some may struggle to perform in front of their peers. Teachers, myself included, worry that theater as a teaching method sometimes comes with uncontrolled circumstances. Discipline itself is already a difficult task and drama can give way to uncontrolled situations. Incorrect use of language can result from drama activities if the teacher does not immediately correct incorrect use of language. Activities may also be artificial and learners may feel that the content of the activity is not relevant to them.
