Meningitis Throughout history, there have been very dangerous diseases that have single-handedly wiped out entire civilizations because we couldn't do anything about them. Most of the time it was because we didn't really understand what was really going on. But thanks to all the scientific advances, humans are able to live many more times than in previous years. But that doesn't mean all human beings are fairly healthy. This means that although we are less likely to die from certain infectious diseases, we now face other risks. For example, not following a healthy diet is one of the many reasons why there are so many premature deaths. Now, if you are not treated immediately, the situation can get worse as time passes and sometimes even be fatal. One of them is meningitis, which is a very serious illness which, if left untreated, can lead to very serious long-term complications and even death, depending on the case.
