Airsoft is a fun sport that is played all over the world, from America to Germany to China to Japan and everywhere in between. For those of you who don't know what airsoft is, it is a combat simulation in which players attempt to eliminate or "kill" other players by shooting them with a small plastic BB fired from an airsoft gun. Most people familiar with airsoft think that to participate in an airsoft match they must have a military uniform and equipment with weapons costing $400 or more. This is not true; Anyone on a budget can participate in an airsoft match, as long as they follow the rules and practice proper airsoft courtesy. Although anyone can participate in an airsoft match, there are limits to what you must have to compete. You must have at least an airsoft gun (obviously), a pair of full seal glasses, a dead rag and be decently dressed. Full gasket goggles are goggles where all gaps are less than 6mm (the size of an airsoft BB); There are masks designed specifically for airsoft and paintball, they generally cost between $10.00 and $20.00 (“Walmart.com”). A dead rag is a brightly colored piece of cloth that you tie to your arm or head after being "killed" so that no one shoots you later thinking you are a threat. While you can wear pretty much whatever you want to an airsoft match, there is a limit to how much your teammates will tolerate you wearing to an airsoft match.
