Kevin Ho (C02335428)Professor Corine SutherlandPHIL 115 β Logic and Critical ThinkingMay 17, 2014Argumentative Paper: Homosexuality is NaturalIn the last 50 years alone, same-sex marriage and more specifically homosexuality homosexuality, made great strides in social reform. For example, as of May 2014, 18 states in the United States have legalized same-sex marriage, while other states allow same-sex unions. The main problem of the last 50 years is the debate between fundamentalists and scientists who debate the controversial debate between nature and culture. Some fundamentalists claim that homosexuality is a lifestyle choice. Conversely, some scientists argue that homosexuality is biologically determined in the womb due to genes or hormones. Additionally, research from the journal Science and other sources will be reviewed in this article, which indicates that homosexuality is biologically determined. This article will argue that homosexuality is natural. The crux of the matter is that homosexuality is natural due to its biological roots and ancestry in humans and animals. Humans are essentially complex animals and animals are the backbone of what humans evolved from. Researchers at the University of Oslo have found that homosexuality is prevalent in the animal kingdom, with a recorded number of over 1,500 animals engaging in homosexual activity (M. News, 2006). Animals exhibit the purest form of natural instincts. Stigma is a great concern in human life because humans collectively decide which acts are judged in line with society. Homosexuality is obvious and essential in the life of certain animal species. Homosexuality therefore comes from the animal kingdom and is therefore natural. Homosexuality would not be natural if... in the middle of the article... rebrums proving that homosexuality is a biologically determined factor. Thinking critically about the so-called issue of homosexuality, at the end of the day, homosexuals and heterosexuals are all people. People who have the same thought processes, the same will to live and people who need to eat, breathe and sleep. Since homosexuals were not given the choice to choose their social role in society (which is at the far end of the scale), homosexuals should not be defined by their social upbringing or by their environment β ββan environment who rejects them. Having the mentality that homosexuality is based on a biological determination, society will only be able to promote the growth of humanity. Homosexuality is natural because of this biological determinism and the fact that it is rooted in our history, our genes and evident in the animal society that surrounds us..
