  • Essay / Management Plan for Teaching Young Children - 1906

As a future teacher of young children, I believe that one of the most important components of the school curriculum is guidance. I believe a teacher's goal is not just to stop inappropriate behavior, but to help children learn to manage their own behaviors. A central part of early childhood education is the development of social skills. It is important for teachers to know that the strategy used to help children learn to manage their behavior is a crucial part of their development. I think it's important for teachers to teach what to do rather than just telling them what not to do. Orientation is a process that is learned over time and being able to make mistakes and learn from them in a supportive environment is a great opportunity for children to become socially competent. There is only so much teaching a teacher can do before a child learns to resolve a situation on their own. Our job as teachers will be to teach our students right from wrong and hopefully they will learn to figure that out for themselves in the future. Teachers help children resolve their problems in positive ways and teach them appropriate behaviors so they understand what is acceptable and unacceptable. I believe guidance is a part of early childhood education that helps a child develop and become a socially competent child. Guidance Strategies In my classroom, I plan to have positive guidance strategies for help children develop self-control and help them make the right decisions. , and encourage them to take responsibility for their actions. An indirect form of guidance that I plan to implement in my classroom is establishing a positive classroom environment. A positive classroom environment will provide my students with a middle of paper found...capable of handling the stress and challenges that can accompany the work. I've never handled stress very well and the idea of being responsible for it scares me. Another concern of mine concerns parents and what they want for their children's education. I intend to do my best as a teacher but I fear I cannot meet the needs of all parents. I have several fears and concerns about the quality of my teacher once I actually get started. I push most of these fears to the back of my mind and try to focus on all the exciting things teaching can offer. I like that children look up to me, but I'm afraid of making mistakes in some way and not being a good role model. I will try to be the best role model possible but no one is perfect. I try to stay focused on my ability to educate children and prepare them for a better future..
