Essay / How does color affect us? - 893
Have you ever wondered why yellow irritates you? Why does purple make you happy? Why does green calm you? Why does orange help you feel energized? Many people think that colors are just colors. But in reality, colors have been useful over the years because they have a huge impact on our lives. Many of us need to be aware of the colors that surround us every day. According to Elizabeth Walling (January 8, 2011), colors can be used to influence the emotions and feelings around us. That's why something as simple as the color of a room affects people in many ways, including the way they feel. The color red can trigger passionate feelings of anger when exposed to the color over a long period of time. The color green can calm others because it reminds them of nature. In conclusion, Elizabeth Walling says that it impacts our lives, whether it is a negative or positive outcome. Another idea from Susan Minamyer (2014) is that color makes a big difference, even something as small as the color of your bracelet can either bring good or bad reactions from others. Scientists have been studying the effects of color on feelings and thinking for many years. For example, one experiment was successful because it was discovered that prison cells painted pink calm prisoners. Pink is said to be known as a tranquilizing color that saps your energy. The color is so effective that color blind people are reassured by the pink pieces. It was also believed that the skin could read color and that the body, emotions and mind responded. A neuropsychologist discovered that blindfolded people reacted to different colored rays. Another study, students used kaleidoscope therapy in which multiple colors of light are visible around a therapy room....... middle of paper ...... used as a healing aid including to relieve stress and anxiety, rebalance energy in the body and transform your life.
