Essay / Computer Networks and Communication - 1054
A computer network and data network is a telecommunications network that allows computers in a network to be linked via cables, telephone lines, radio waves, satellites or infrared light beams. This facilitates communication and sharing of resources between a large number of people located in different locations. Better known as the Internet, the computer network is established using a cable or wireless medium. The only system used before the 19th century was the postal system, and it took several days depending on the distance between the sender and the recipient. But today, thanks to access to the Internet, you can communicate with people in seconds, no matter where they live or the distance between the sender and the recipient. Back then, the US military used the Internet and communications equipment to communicate with its far-flung soldiers on the battlefield, but today we can see more than 70% of the world's population using these equipment. A country like Panama, with a population of 3 million, has more than 7 million on cell phones alone. Does this represent a technological advance or a threat? “I envision a time when we will be to robots what dogs are to humans, and I support machines.” Said by Claude Elwood Shannon, father of digital communication. He created a digital circuit using simple Boolean algebra. As Claude Shannon said, we now see people more attached to their computers and their cell phones. Studies have shown that with all the technology available to humans, they are less social. In the past, people used to travel and go to different places to enjoy their families. For example, during Carnival week, people would travel to the interior of the country and some of them would go to Brazil. But now a days they prefer to stay at home and s...... middle of paper ...... e of eye diseases and increase in body weight. But we all know it's never too late: we can still change our lives and the way we use technology. After experiencing all these consequences, if we still do nothing, then a very famous quote by Albert Einstein will be applied to our life and the next generation: “I fear the day when technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots. -communication.htmlhttp://communicationt.blogspot.com/2011/10/disadvantages-of-communication.htmlhttp://mags2304.wordpress.com/2012/02/08/37/http://www.slideshare.net /anantlodha/disadvantages-of-technology-in-communcation http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/c/claudeshan194087.html
