Essay / Is there a solution? - 1241
It's 2:15 a.m. and you've just finished creating an assignment for your English class. Your eyelids droop, so you decide to drag yourself to bed for a few hours of sleep. You're just falling asleep (that's how it feels) and your alarm goes off. It’s 7 a.m. and you think, “I’m going to stay here for five more minutes.” Next thing you know, it's 7:45, you've just gotten up and you have class at 8:00. You rush and get to school on time, but realize you forgot to do your physics and calculus homework. because you were so focused on your English homework. You would have had time to do all your homework if your basketball practice hadn't lasted so late! All your friends can tell that you are very upset about this situation, so they offer to copy their homework. You take it (even though you know it's wrong) and finish your homework that is due for the next period. In today's society, this type of scenario seems to be commonplace. Many people try to come up with a master plan, a solution that will stop cheating, something so ingenious that it will end cheating. However, I think we should look at all angles before trying to create a plan to motivate students to stop cheating. There are many different people with many different reasons or ideas as to why cheating happens. These people sometimes have a solution that they think will stop cheating, but it usually revolves around a central theme. I think if we combine all of these ideas we will be better prepared to formulate a possible solution to this problem, but it will have to be comprehensive. All bases will need to be covered. Technology, teachers, morals and values seem to be the three major points surrounding the problem...... middle of paper ...... if we can pull together and help our students understand that cheating is a choice, we can help them they choose not to.
