The number of coronary patients is increasing due to the aging of the population (Ferrari & Fox, 2009). Life expectancy in Singapore is one of the highest in the world (National Population and Talent Division, 2012). Clearly, with the increasing aging of the population, the nation and community need to focus not only on treating coronary heart disease, but also on prevention and providing better support considering the needs and particular concerns of older people. Although coronary heart disease is very common among older adults, it is often undiagnosed or misdiagnosed in this age group due to differences in clinical manifestations (Aronow, 2013). Failure to recognize the early signs and symptoms of coronary heart disease can lead to a heart attack increasing the number of deaths (Rao and Thanikachalam, 2005).
