Aristotle and the Nicomachean Book of Ethics In Book I of the Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle states that the ultimate goal or end of man is happiness. Aristotle then describes the steps necessary for humans to achieve ultimate happiness. He also states that activity is an important condition for happiness. A virtuous person takes pleasure in doing virtuous things. He goes on to say that living a virtuous life is something enjoyable in itself. The role of virtue for Aristotle is important, without it it seems that humans cannot achieve happiness. Virtue is the link we have with happiness and the way we should obtain it. My goal in this article is to connect Aristotle's book on the Nicomachean Ethics to my own reasoning about self-ethics. I completely agree with Aristotle's goal of happiness and conclude with his idea of the virtues, which are states of virtuous character that affect our decision-making in life. To reach this topic, I have divided my article into three main sections, in which I have subsections. proof. In the first section, I will provide a lot of information about Aristotle and his beliefs in virtue and obtaining happiness. Using information from his ethics book, I will provide examples and quotes to support his point of view. In the second section, I will agree on why I identify with and really like Aristotle's book on the Nicomachean Ethics. In the third section, I will provide research into why there are such objections to Aristotle's book of ethics, and respond to the reasons why I disagree with them. Finally, I will conclude much of my and Aristotle's views on ethics and why I agree so strongly with this path of ethics for humans. Ultimate HappinessAristotle states that I...... middle of paper ...... find the balance, once you find the balance you achieve the main goal of life and obtain happiness . According to Aristotle, there is a right answer or an objectively correct way for everyone when their circumstances are taken into account. Overall, Aristotle's reasoning is very legitimate, because for humans, finding balance is a way of life for most of us, we try to achieve good and, most certainly, we try to achieve ourselves. develop and seek ways to achieve more happiness in life. /www.sparknotes.com/philosophy/ethics/section7.rhtmlhttp://www.gradesaver.com/aristotles-ethics/study-guide/section1/http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/aristotle-ethics/https http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/16/ETHICAL THEORY Moral issues that divide us and applied ethics: a sourcebookJames Fieser (2008)Aristotle, Nicomachean Ethics [1893]
