Essay / American foreign policies and influences - 1218
No country in the world has influence comparable to the United States. Perhaps this is mainly due to the fact that it is a superpower nation. Although Russia has been there for ages since its days as the USSR, its foreign influence until now has not matched that of the United States. The People's Republic of China tries as much as it can to exert influence, especially in Africa and other developing countries, but the United States of America still leads in impact on countries of the world. Even the operations of international bodies like the UN have not been able to function fully independently of U.S. influence, directly or indirectly. What the United States represents on the international stage is felt in every nation around the world. Surprisingly, scholars assert strongly that what California does and believes today is exactly what the world will do and believe tomorrow. This shows how dominant the United States is on the face of the world. Due to this great influence of the United States on the international stage, debates have ensued regarding the impacts of excessive US involvement in international affairs. Most Americans today have mixed opinions about the international policies their leaders expose them to, and the question going around is whether those policies are worth all the contributions the U.S. government spends. Structurally and politically, America is democratic. One of the main demands of the international community is that it wants the “whole” world to be democratic. He wants people to believe in what he believes in. This has been further advocated by members of Congress and the executive branch, and it comes down to the question of whether these two institutions are becoming a liability or an asset to all Americans. ...... middle of paper ...... However, we need to change the tricks of the trade. The U.S. government must exercise restraint in its international policy in order to strike a balance between pursuing its interests and exercising power over other countries. Moderation will ensure that international conflicts between it and other nations are kept to a minimum. Less conflict directly translates into better international understanding between America and its allies. Current policy is characterized by favoring allies. for example, history has proven that the United States and Israel are very close allies and whether Israel is right or wrong regarding international conflicts, the United States is always on its side..
