For many, individuals find something that makes them feel better and fills the void, albeit temporarily. Then they continue to chase it to get the same sensations as before, and while some habits satisfy the user every time, others have to chase the dragon and are never able to experience that first sensation again. Before they know it, they are using this substance as a crutch and they cannot function without it. Although some people are able to slowly but surely break out of their habits, others are victims of their own self-destruction before they can even put an end to it. However, there is always hope. With support from others, encouragement, motivation and patience, there are ways to prevent further use or consumption. It takes a lot of determination to recover from a relapse, but “relapse is part of recovery” (Sheff, 167). Even still, life doesn't have to
