The average fast food combo can contain a whopping 1,100 calories, or more than half of the daily 2,000 calories! Eating three meals of this nature a day cannot be good for an employee who sits at his desk all day. What role do these foods play in your body? According to the Obesity Action Coalition, the number of obese Americans has doubled thanks to fast food consumption. Obesity leads to higher risks of heart disease and several significant health problems later in life. Another example of fast food costing the consumer their hard-earned health care money. Preparing food at home offers more nutritional options, such as better portions and lower levels of fats and sugars. Healthier home-cooked meals could help reduce the trend of obesity in the United States. In short, preparing food at home allows the individual to know what they are consuming and fast food consumers play with their health. Fast food and healthy eating affect American culture differently in terms of convenience, cost, and health. Many factors determine what an individual consumes as fuel for their body.
