Even though there are many laws and organizations to prevent this crime, many do not follow these laws and continue to abuse as before. In households, 1 in 4 women are abused and 1 in 12 men are abused. Many women experience over 4 million physical assaults and rapes because of their partners and men are victims of physical assaults. Women, however, are more likely than men to be killed by an intimate partner. Men are victims of domestic violence, but it often goes unnoticed due to the fact that it is looked down upon since men are expected to be in charge. However, we know that domestic violence can happen to anyone, at any time. Many do not understand the type of pain victims feel, the despair, depression, suffering and sadness. Some even become hostile, but there are ways to alleviate the problem. Many people have tried to solve the problem by creating shelters or organizations to protect victims from further abuse. Many organizations also receive funds to send to victims to help them if they have children. another solution is to provide them with a helpline where they can call and speak to someone who can give them advice on what to do to help them. Finally, they have websites where you can chat with other people who feel what you feel and tell you about prevention if they know. Last but not least, there is the police who can get the reports from you and do their best to help you.
