More than a face“To take a photograph is to participate in the mortality, the vulnerability, the mutability of another person (or a thing). It is precisely by cutting out this moment and freezing it that all the photographs bear witness to the incessant melting of time. - Susan Sontag, On PhotographyPhotography is documentation, whether for business, professional purposes, or just for fun. Sontag's statement about the frozen moment is accurate, because you are momentarily invading someone's (or something's) life. The goal of a photograph is to capture an image that can tell a story on its own; photojournalists are too experienced in this field and remain focused on the task at hand. Photojournalists can tell a story through an image and successfully influence the viewer with the desired response. A photograph is a moment of invasion and a photographer's goal is to make that moment as comfortable as possible for the subject so that the image is perfect. This communication is obviously not verbal but the message embedded in any given image as well as to the viewers. The answers affect businesses and photographers around the world. Success in business depends greatly on how we communicate, for better or for worse. Becoming a good communicator takes practice, constant attention and effort, and it is a necessary skill. In order to please clients, it is important to convey the ideas the client is asking for in the images they are paying for. The best way to satisfy the client's wishes is to listen carefully and ensure that they are comfortable with the work being performed.
