Essay / The Influence of Irish Catholics in My Life
The distinctive characteristic of Boston's Irish immigrants of the 18th and 19th centuries that set them apart was their willingness to work and persevere while remaining close to God. This is important because it plays an important role in the formation of Catholic life in the New World and adds a new culture to the English-controlled region. This will be demonstrated in an investigation of Irish perseverance through different types of work as they incorporated their Catholicism into everyday life. Immigrants were located in New York, Chicago, and Boston, but I will focus on the Boston Irish. Boston Bay, on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, is Boston. This causes many other cultures to influence their way of life from abroad. Boston has also been found in the New England region. This means that the English had a great influence on the way of life. In this region, there are not many reliefs, but mainly waterways. A major landform is the Taconic Mountains, which constitute a side range of the Appalachians. These mountains vary the climate of Massachusetts. Some important waterways include Boston Harbor, the Atlantic Ocean, the Charles River, and Cape Cod. Boston is located in a water-based region, which brings many other cultures by water and mixes the races of the people they encounter daily through work and church. The climate in Boston is cold, as it is on the water's edge, and they receive a lot of rain, at rapid and heavy intervals. Rain was good for farmers when they cultivated their crops. Winters occupy most of the year, which generally consists of small and short nor'easters. Boston, being one of the largest cities in the country at the time, was home to many other races mixing in their cities. The ...... middle of paper ...... this is what we do now. It may not be as strongly established as it once was, but it still has a lineage dating back to the Irish-Catholics who lived nearly a century ago.
