Suicide is when someone intentionally commits suicide. Suicidal behaviors, such as thoughts and behaviors, put people at risk of wanting to end their lives. [1] A person's death is considered a suicide if there is clear evidence that "the person died as a result of a deliberate act intended to cause his or her own death." [3] Suicide is a significant health problem facing many young people today, as it is one of the leading causes of death among young people, after deaths from road traffic accidents, which are the leading cause deaths among young people in Australia.
