A generation is known as a group of people born in a particular period who are said to have had similar events or experiences in growing. . Negative connotations are often leveled toward millennials because they are known for being spoiled, overconfident, and overly dependent on social media and technology. They are the first generation to have grown up with high-definition television, cell phones, the Internet and social media. Millennials may be more environmentally interested, caring and community-oriented than previous generations. The majority of this generation are now young adults and starting their careers. They make up the majority of the young singles and couples market and are a very critical consumer group. Many claims made about millennials are based on little evidence and are contradictory. This report seeks to examine these claims. The purpose of this report is to determine whether people born in Generation Y, between the years 1982 and 1994, actually have the beliefs and attitudes that the media presents to them. Millennials will be studied to find out if they are as passionate about technology as they are made out to be and if they care about the world they live in and the environment. It is important for companies to have a good understanding of this part of the workforce. This generation appears to have a greater sense of entitlement than their older peers, with a strong desire to have their work and achievements recognized and rewarded. This explains their need for regular promotions, which they consider to be an important part of their career development.
