  • Essay / Constructive Leadership In The Truth... by Karen Otazo

When hiring employees, especially an assistant, it is essentially a leader applying a form of transformational leadership rather than transactional. A form of transformational leadership occurs when the leader believes that his followers are competent and full of potential. The main focus is on employee engagement and development to transform followers into goal-oriented actors. Whereas a transactional form of leadership occurs when a follower is treated as a lazy, uncaring and incompetent individual. The main goal of transactional leadership is task accomplishment, which means that the employee is seen as an economic actor.
