In 2002, The Park was officially opened, making it the only three-high school campus in the United States (Canton High School Principal Hal Heard). The park is a unique place in Michigan. It is home to three high schools: Canton High School, Plymouth High School, and Salem High School, as well as more than 220 extracurricular activities, all for the more than six thousand students who attend there. However, among the three high schools in The Park, Canton High School is the best high school. Canton High School is the best high school in The Park because of its athletic program, academy, and academics. First, in the 2013 Canton Football season, Canton Football was nearly unstoppable compared to the other two high school football teams. For example, the Canton University Football team finished its season with a record of eight wins – two losses (Football 2013 KLAA Rankings 1). Even though the Plymouth football team was reasonably close with a record of five wins – four losses, they are still nowhere near as good as the Canton football team. The Plymouth football team's wins and the Salem football team's combined wins only match Canton's football wins. This shows how much better Canton football is than both high school football teams. The football team is just one example of how Canton sports are phenomenal compared to other high school sports offered at the Park. The fact that Canton sports is better than other sports programs makes it the best. Secondly, three academies were introduced into the park in 2012. The three academies are the International Academy (IA), Science, Technology and Mathematics Engineering (STEM), and the Arts Academy. STEM is the academy located at Canton High School.
