    An idea that has both perplexed and intrigued me is the concept that science, in my case chemistry and physics, has a direct impact on every part of the world. I've always been intrigued by the secrets of how the world is made and how exactly everything in the world works. However, it wasn't until recently, in high school, that I began to understand the fundamentals of how the world actually works. In order to understand the origin of this desire to gain more knowledge and discover more about how life works, I have to provide a little anecdote from last year in my AP Chemistry class. My chemistry teacher said something that I continue to think about today.
