  • Essay / My desire to study architecture - 763

Walking among Hong Kong's skyscrapers, I am always amazed by the city's unique structures and creative spaces. Just imagining myself interacting with space and culture to design a work of art to place among these great masterpieces excites me. These innovations are what truly makes me want to understand the field better and inspire me to learn more about the intricacies of architecture. Advanced mathematics, physics, art and design are the subjects that I find the most fascinating. Thanks to mechanical studies in Physics and thematic experiments in Fine Arts, I have enormously strengthened my intellectual and visual communication skills. Last year, while working on a course on darkness and conformity in crowds, I was exposed to new design methods, such as observing crowds and people's social behaviors and l applying raw expressions and emotions to strengthen the design of my drafts and ultimately, the final piece. Additionally, I have improved my analytical skills by writing formal analyzes of works of art in which I interpret many elements such as culture and history and address them to the theme of the work of art. Architects also use these methods in their design process to create remarkable designs and buildings. By studying advanced mathematics, I developed problem-solving skills and became adept at solving mechanics problems that are crucial in architectural engineering, where calculating factors such as the force required to support a structure is part of daily practice. Last summer, I took a course called “Career Discovery in Architecture” in Hong Kong because I aspired to broaden my perspective in this field. Through workshops and lectures led by professors, I ...... middle of paper ...... to learn more about visual representation techniques and above all, how to convey my ideas through the visual media. Through this, I developed the habit of keeping a visual journal to record some of my ideas, which helps boost creativity. Besides that, I like to listen to music and swim regularly to relieve stress. I am a dedicated, motivated and conscientious person. I strongly believe that choosing architecture as a field of study will fulfill my commitment to improving the local environment and helping people within the community. As I look to the future, I am excited to begin training that will further advance my understanding of architecture and build on my foundation to realize my full potential. One day I would like to design structures that could inspire someone else, like the buildings in Hong Kong inspired me..
