    Helena. The French Revolution obviously had a major impact on Europe and the rest of the world. France lost many of its people trying to escape political tensions and save their lives. A number of individuals settled primarily in neighboring countries (Britain, Germany, Austria, and Prussia), but a number also went to the United States. The French Revolution was good because it displaced many French people, which led to a spread of French culture and policies regulating immigration. The impact this had on France was overwhelming, as it shaped politics, society, religion and new ideologies. The closer the countries were to France, the greater and deeper the French impact, bringing liberalism and the end of many feudal or traditional laws and practices. However, the negative effects of the revolution were a conservative counter-reaction that defeated Napoleon, reinstated the Bourbon kings, and reversed a new policy.
