  • Essay / The role of forests in our lives - 752

Forests play an important role in maintaining biodiversity. Forests play an important role in air circulation, maintaining water quality, meeting basic human needs and contributing to culture and recreation. However, there are many problems that could cause forests to disappear. The problem of many forests around the world is human. Humans are dangerous to forests because they have destroyed forests by cutting down the trees that provide their forest's ecosystem, by illegally logging for factories, by cultivating to provide human food and also for agriculture. Furthermore, the main reason for felling trees or deforestation is money. Many economists and environmentalists still have divergent opinions on how they can manage forests in the future. Economists would think that we have enough natural resources or forests that we can use for anything. On the other hand, environmentalists believe that using too much forest or natural resources to meet demands or products will impact the lives of native animals and plants. The habitat of animals and plants will soon disappear if we continue to cut down the world's tree space. First of all, deforestation is one of the biggest problems in the world. Many problems result from deforestation. The first impact is polluting gases, these gases will affect the world's atmosphere because trees always absorb carbon dioxide, which is really beneficial for trees (National Geographic, nd, pp. 9). Carbon dioxide is a gas used by trees to feed themselves through their leaves. The second problem concerns greenhouse gases. Trees could balance their ability to absorb greenhouse gases because they could simply absorb carbon dioxide. However, if we can't save them...... middle of paper ......tion. We have many ways to safely save our trees. We can create forests as recreation or as new tourist destinations. Finally, we can save trees, either by simply not having to cut them down, or by protecting our trees by monitoring their trees together. Works Cited Lindenmayer, DB and Franklin, JF (2003).
