    The piece is made up entirely of visible, heavy brushstrokes as the artist mixes his opaque colors. The impasto strokes alternate between creamy and thick as the paint builds up on the canvas. The artist alternates between short, quick strokes and long strokes, which is shown on the fabric hanging at the back and on the far right wall. The texture is rough because it has dense paint blobs and minor scratches that allow the colors underneath to bleed through. The texture of the paint supports and enhances rushed brushstrokes because it balances the layers. The balance of the color layers gives the painting an abstract feel and draws the eye to the foreground where most of the texture is on the ground and cover. The artist does a wonderful job introducing texture into concentrated areas of the painting. Jerky brushstrokes on hanging fabric attach lumpier soil
