The StormEvery storm comes upon us, reaches a bright climax, and then fades into nothingness. We all experience thunder and lightning in our lives while remaining “purified air.” It brings something rejuvenating and refreshing to our lives. In the short story "The Storm", written by Kate Chapin on July 19, 1898, we introduce Calixta who, "by chance", meets her former lover home alone due to an impending storm and reawakens old passions and desires . told by a 3rd person narrator who focuses on the two main protagonists Calixta and Alcée. The narrator begins to describe Calixta as a worrying wife, married to Bobinot and together they have a son called Bibi. “Calixta, at home, felt no concern for their safety. She was sitting by a side window and sewing furiously on a sewing machine. As the storm approaches and Alcée finds shelter at Calixta's house, Alceé notices her for the first time in five years, the description shifts to her youthful beauty. It seems that her husband no longer looks at her the way Alceé does. He sees her as a real woman and he knows it's true....
