  • Essay / Global Health Care - 1387

Global Health Care When a person becomes ill or injured, they expect to receive medical care, whether in a public office or private. We tend to think that almost everyone has health insurance to cover the high costs of medical care, but in reality, many cannot afford it. The universal challenge has been to find medical coverage for everyone in the world, but is this ideal too radical? Each country has its own advantages and disadvantages when it comes to healthcare plans. The United States, among others, has just reformed ours. There are many types of health coverage around the world that continue to face ever-increasing costs, as well as lack of accessibility to public and/or private healthcare. Here, we'll look at other countries to see how the health coverage models they've adopted have helped improve their own health care and how those same models could potentially improve ours. Knowing the “four basic models of health systems” will help us. better understand how our own health system came to be and how it has evolved to what it is today. Each system has the same fundamental objectives; preventative care for healthy people, caring for the sick, injured or dying and providing this service without causing economic strain to the population (Reid). The "Beveridge model", named after William Beveridge, who created Britain's National Health Service, provides services to the public. It is publicly funded through taxes collected by the government (Reid). Services are provided to the public by public health establishments or by a private doctor; all of whom receive remuneration from the government for their services. Since the healthcare system belongs to the middle of paper, the community can meet the needs of the population without causing financial ruin. We will need to make changes as health care demands increase and change.
