Being a professional athlete is what everyone wants to be at some point in their life. The fame and attention these stars receive from all over the world is what everyone covets. But the main reason people choose athletics is money. Athletes are paid over a million dollars a year just for playing a sport and also do not need extensive training to achieve this goal. Compared to athletes, other jobs, such as engineering, are not paid compared to the salary of professional athletes. The salary ratio of a professional athlete to the salary of a job benefiting humanity is not proportional. Their work improves our lives and their salary should reflect their work and determination in the many projects created. Professional athletes don't benefit humans much, as they are mostly just sources of entertainment. Knowledge, money, and spending habits contribute to getting paid handsomely to play a sport.
