Although the recruitment and admission of prospective students spans a short period of time compared to the multi-year relationship of enrolled students, effective recruitment practices generate diverse, high-ability students who add to excellence and support the mission of selective colleges and universities. Coupled with effective enrollment management, the efforts of admissions officers are very important. Recruiting and admitting not only the most academically prepared students, but also striving to consider others who show potential, allows for fair admissions practices and ensures that students are successful and successful a positive experience ultimately leading to loyal alumni and potential donors.
