The bombings caused widespread destruction and killed many civilians. This was done during the Spanish Civil War by planes of the German Luftwaffe and Italian Fascism on April 26, 1937. Guernica is a Basque town best known for its disaster on April 26, 1937, bombing of Guernica. It was also one of the Luftwaffe's first aerial bombings of Nazi Germany. This Basque town also inspired the painter Pablo Picasso with his inspired painting Guernica. The traditional Spanish way had it spelled Guernica, but most Basques don't like it and as Franco is gone, Basques prefer Gernika. They actually gave it back its original name. The author apologized for mistelling it, but it was also written that way with Picasso's famous painting Guernica, which inspired many others. On April 26, 1937, during the Spanish Civil War, Guernica was the scene of the bombardment of Guernica by the Condor. Luftwaffe Legion of Nazi Germany. The Luftwaffe was the air warfare branch of the German Wehrmacht during World War II. They became one of the most powerful in the world when World War II broke out in Europe. The Luftwaffe's Condor Legion sent by Hitler experimented with new doctrines and aircraft during the Spanish Civil War. This helped Francisco Franco's Phalanx defeat Republican forces. In conclusion, the bombing of Guernica on April 26, 1937, which killed approximately a thousand civilians and more during the Spanish Civil War. This caused a huge disaster in a small Basque town, with victims dying that day. This book inspires others and takes a look at part of the great Basque history..
