    Hamlet enters the door and asks his mother what is troubling her. Gertrude tells him that he offended his father by talking about Claudius. Hamlet tells her that she has offended his father, King Hamlet. Hamlet relentlessly tries to intimidate his mother, and she screams that he is trying to kill her. Polonius shouts from behind the curtain for help, and Hamlet draws his sword and stabs the tapestry, killing Polonius, leaving him dead on the floor. Hamlet accuses Gertrude of lusting after Claudius, and she begs Hamlet to stop and leave her alone. The ghost of King Hamlet reappears to Hamlet, but only he can see it.
