In this article, I will also talk about Kenyan business culture and how Indian and Kenyan cultures are in conflict. I will also discuss what can be done to overcome cultural differences and enable both cultures to conduct their affairs smoothly.1.1 Case StudyWith a population of approximately 42 million in Kenya, the Indian community is estimated to be over of 100,000 people. Indians have been present in Kenya since around the 1920s. The majority of these Indians own large organizations and factories that employ several workers, the majority of these workers being Kenyans. This means that Indians play a major role in creating jobs in Kenya, enabling people to earn a salary and live a comfortable life. However, many Indians tend to speak in their native language and English. Only a minority of the population is fluent in Swahili, the dominant language in Kenya. This tends to be a major barrier when it comes to doing business, as many locals only speak Swahili and their native language.
