If nurses have a positive attitude toward aging, they can instill positive attitudes toward the aging process in their colleagues. By instilling positive attitudes in their colleagues, it can change the way these nurses view aging. Nurses can also serve as role models by refraining from telling jokes about ageism, treating older adults with respect, and listening to them and their concerns. This will help other people in society and help change the way they view the elderly population. The nurse being a role model can start a cascade of other healthcare professionals who become role models and fight.
