Essay / rhetorical analysis - 684
The trailer of the film “Rio 2”, shows a lot of pathos, ethos and logos. These rhetorical appeals are hidden throughout the film's trailer; however, they can be recognized by paying attention to the details and editing of the video. I am drawn to these types of films because of the positive life messages and the innocent yet funny personifications of the characters; therefore, the following rhetorical analysis will give a brief explanation of the scenes, highlight the characteristics of persuasive appeals and how people can be easily persuaded using this technique, as well as my own interpretation of the message presented in the trailer. In the movie trailer we can clearly hear the happy music in the background, the lights, the girls dancing at the carnival, Rio (the bird) saying a positive affirmation and trying to save a cute little bird from being swept away by fireworks, but unfortunately for Rio, things didn't go as planned, so he was the one who ended up in the fireworks; therefore, celebratory fireworks add an inviting feeling. All of this makes it clear that the creators of the film's trailer wanted to start with the persuasive appeal of pathos. In this short scene, pathos is used to attract an audience through emotions of excitement, happiness, and humor. The creators of this trailer want the audience to feel the connection to the scenes through emotions and feelings of desire; they want the audience to believe that this movie is going to be funny, lively and adventurous. The target audience is young people or a population that shows a particular interest in birds or animals. During the next scene, the mother bird clearly identifies herself as a bird...... middle of paper ...... uh apparently created successful persuasive appeals for the crowd to be attracted and enjoy of a film which will be funny, colorful and full of adventure which will ultimately teach a life experience to the audience. The positive message that the creator of this trailer wanted for people to understand that even a bird, in this case Rio, who grew up in a house, far from his roots, will always have room for new experiences. In the human world, I see this as a message that no matter who you are, there is always room and time to know yourself better and explore all the possibilities the world has to offer. New experiences will always help you grow and eventually overcome your fears. The trailer also shows the importance of family support and the importance of family. In the human world, family should be a priority.
