Our economic development will always be defined as our ability to succeed on an international scale. PwC forecasts real annual GDP growth for India through 2050 at 8.9%, Vietnam at 8.8% and China at 5.9%. The list of fast-growing emerging markets is long. The United States forecasts a meager 2.4 percent, comparable to most Western economies. The domestic companies that will likely experience incremental growth over the coming decades are those that not only do business internationally, but also develop the strategic skills needed to master business activities across cultures. Core cross-cultural skills are at the heart of sustainable competitive advantage today. For example, the political environment will tell us how and why political leaders control whether and how international trade. The legal environment, both domestic and international, will tell us about many types of laws under which businesses must operate. The cultural environment will tell us about the attitudes, beliefs and opinions that are important to business people. The economic environment will tell us about the economic system followed by the host country, which may or may not be different from the country of origin. It will also explain the variables such as level of development, human resources, gross domestic GDP per capita and consumption patterns that determine a company's ability to do business. Geography will tell us about the location, quantity and quality of the world's resources. By studying their perspective on business, it can add value to international business.
