    THE POLITICAL BENEFITS OF US IMMIGRATION POLICY REFORMSIntroductionThe recent reforms proposed by the US government have sparked debates in different circles. To a large extent, they were seen as a desire by the government to ensure that the composition of the country's population was rationalized by adopting the reforms. This issue has gained great importance in recent times due to the increasing number of immigrants in the country. Over the years, the number of immigrants to the United States has continued to increase. This situation has been fueled by the desire of these people to seek new opportunities and a better life in the country. This is what we commonly call the “American Dream.” The main concern identified to address the issue is the assessment of the immigrant population, particularly those who do not have the required documents. Critics of immigration say it is these immigrants who pose a threat to the country's security. So this is the main aspect that has given rise to the need for immigration policy reform. Currently, there is no overarching framework providing guidelines for how these immigrants should be integrated into the country's demographic framework. According to statistics released in 2011, the number of immigrants in the United States who did not have the required documents was 11.5 million (Roberts para 4). To some extent, different authors have presented the argument that the strategies adopted by the US government are political. This builds on the enormous support that immigration policy reform has received from the U.S. government, and even more so from Democrats. Part of keeping the promise To some extent, the immigration policy reform proposed by the US government could be seen as a strategy to keep the promise that was made during the election campaigns.
