Essay / Air Pollution Essay - 2925
Environmental pollution is one of the most serious crises these days. It is a fact that three basic elements, air, water and earth, constitute the harmony of nature for correct and balanced life of all organisms. Among these, air pollution is the crisis we often face in recent years, and many diseases and health problems have been caused by poor air quality. Air pollution can be divided into 2 types, namely outdoor air pollution and indoor air pollution. This report studies indoor air pollution, its causes, its effects and some strategies to address it. (Waseem et al., 2013) Activities of daily living require individuals to spend more than 80% of their time indoors (offices, schools, hospitals, daycares, shopping centers, private residences); therefore, the air quality of these spaces can affect the health of their occupants. Potential contaminants are of distinct origin: those from combustion, biological processes and agents, gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Contaminants and disease processes resulting from their exposure differ depending on income level, geographic location and individual cultural determinants. In developed countries, indoor air contaminants are influenced by the architectural design of buildings, outdoor sources of pollution, construction materials, and ventilation and air conditioning systems. In developing countries, the use of biomass as fuel for cooking or heating homes is the main source of IAC. (Waseem et al., 2013)We can conclude that indoor air pollution is affected by housing and living conditions, but to some extent it is also affected by the outdoor environment after taking into account the variables of indoor air pollution and..... .middle of paper ......it can happen. It remains to be discussed whether it would be reasonable to use this material in places suitable for growth, such as bathrooms.6. If uncertainties increase in severity and scale (for example the effects of climate change or (fine) dust coming from outside), a scientific analysis, or even a political and societal debate, is required. This will result in a widely accepted risk problem definition, a strategy for measuring the problem or keeping it “on the table” and possibly designing a decision-making framework. CONCLUSIONHealth and education start where we spend most of our time. Indoor pollution therefore has a close impact on our health. Indoor pollution is the contamination of all pollutants which together form the overall ambience of the indoor environment. If we can't protect our homes from pollution, how should the outdoors be safer ?.
