    A tradition is a set of customs and beliefs passed down from generation to generation and anchored in the culture of a society. Many people view a tradition as something that has "always been there" and tend not to question why such traditions were put in place, or even whether such traditions are moral. People often don't take the time to truly evaluate their reasoning for following such beliefs, or don't take the time to decide if their reasoning is even valid. The Muay Thai fighting culture in Thailand is one in which the morality of its "traditions" should be questioned. Female fighters who participate in Muay Thai culture are considered second class to the male fighters who participate. To enter the ring, women must always go under the ropes, while men are allowed to enter the ring by going above the ropes.
