The successful application of these theories has been very interdisciplinary in their use, being applicable to the development of disorders and even the calculation of spending patterns between social groups . Behaviorism and social learning have evolved beyond its initial use for purely educational purposes. However, the effectiveness of behaviorism theory is questioned as an educational approach. L'Ecuyer (2014) explains that the behaviorist approach “emphasizes the accumulation of information (knowledge), external behaviors (mechanical skills and habits) and their emotional and physical reactions in given situations, rather than on the person's internal mental states, such as intentionality, which are much more complex (p.2). The article questions the modern effectiveness of the behaviorist approach on children. I have found that social learning theory, combined with behaviorism theory, remains very useful in education, even with the influx of modern technologies. At its core, behaviorism, both classical and classic, seeks to explain why humans respond to certain stimuli. The operant is used more socially, particularly in child rearing, how to effectively discipline a child via reinforcement of positive behaviors or corporal punishment for negative behaviors is still a highly debated topic.
