Essay / Helen - 676
At the beginning of the film, The Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Helen's physical appearance is presented as how a rich person would dress. She dresses very elegantly as if she were a lawyer. She wears suits, dresses, skirts and tops that fit her slim body. She doesn't wear tennis shoes or sandals, she wears heels. When Charles kicks her out of their home and the film continues, Helen begins to dress more like a middle-class person. Rather, she wears the most beautiful Sunday outfit; more colorful, comfortable and happy. She wears summer clothes and now her shoes have changed from heels to sandals. Seeing Helen from the beginning, the way she dressed and the house she lived in, you would think that she came from a wealthy family and was raised to dress very elegantly, whereas 'in reality it's quite the opposite. Before Charles, Helen grew up in what you call a “ghetto” neighborhood. Her mother is Christian but her grandmother would not be afraid to crush a human being. They have a two-story house and associate with many people regardless of their identity and background. You can assume that Helen has a high school education since she can read, write, and spell. Helen has no professional experience because she depends on Charles. Because Charles pampered her with what she wanted, mistreated her, and treated her with disrespect, she changed her ways. Helen learns to work for what she wants, to stand up for herself, to stay on guard even when it is not necessary, and to not tolerate any disrespect. Early in the film, you can tell just by the way Helen's facial expressions are presented. she has a gentle tone of voice and a tender heart; very compassionate.. His vocabulary does...... middle of paper...... like the strength to tell Charles that they will always be friends. She is a better person now and also thinks about herself and how happy she should be. After keeping Orlando waiting for a while, she finally decided that she wanted to marry him. She found her happy place and it was with him. She chose to join him on the road to a happily ever after ending. “We may not love easily, but when we love, we love hard.” In this movie, Tyler Perry says that not all men are the same. Just because one man is rude, selfish, ignorant and unfaithful doesn't mean all men are like that. Women should not make men like Orlando pay for what men like Charles did to Helen. He also says that women should have the right not to be treated like Helen. They should stand up for themselves and not tolerate the nonsense of men. Women have all the rights that men have as long as they are treated with respect..
