Essay / The South Was Not Responsible for the Civil War
Josh Fox once said, "When you're stuck, you can do two things: move or fight." ยป It is clear that the Southern states chose to fight rather than secede. However, it is unclear whether the North is responsible for cornering the South and forcing it to fight. Did the Northern States corner the Southern States which chose to fight? The South is responsible for the civil war to a tiny extent, as the Northern states are responsible for the capture and escalation of disputes between the Southern states, who had no choice but to fight for their economy and livelihoods. The Southern states were therefore not responsible for the secession that led to the Civil War. When the cotton gin was invented and the industrial revolution began in the United States, the Southern states had to change their way of life and their economy. They are forced to grow cotton to make money and cotton requires a lot of slaves. This is the difference that led to the civil war. However, the Northern states did not require slaves in their mills and factories, providing a distinct difference between the South and the North that ultimately led to war. The South was heavily dependent on slaves but the North had no reason to have them. The Northern states are responsible for taking over the South because they disagree with slaves but are extremely dependent on the South, which relies heavily on slaves to pick cotton. It is no exaggeration to say that the North was hypocritical. The Northern states were stubborn and did not try to understand why the South wanted or needed the slaves when they used the cotton harvested from the slaves to grow their economies...... middle of paper .... ..North caused economic damage to the South. The escalation caused even more problems between the two sides. The Northern States attempted to force their thoughts South by developing the Tariff of Abominations to their advantage. Southern states feel abandoned by this tariff because it appears the federal government is on the side of the Northern states. The South is not responsible for the civil war while the North is responsible for the differences and the escalation of differences that lead to war. . The South was cornered or forced to secede and fight for its economy. The Northern states are responsible for creating the difference between slaves and the Southern states and escalating the difference or problem. Garcia, Jesus.
