This source is a 220 page book written by an individual at Glasgow Caledonian University who teaches communications and media. This book is a brief analysis of how print and visual media affected women in the 20th century. It is not limited to reality but also covers myths associated with women and media/advertising. She's largely interested in the tendency of advertisers to be playful toward depictions of women. I will use this source to provide evidence and answers as to why women are predominantly targeted. In this survey, three groups of women are exposed to fashion with brands. The three groups were one without labeling, one with a short warning label, and one with an explanatory warning label. The survey showed that the group with a short warning label experienced less body dissatisfaction and was able to remember a greater number of brand names, while the group with an explanatory warning label did not couldn't be bothered to read the entire labeling and the control group (without any labeling), both experienced a greater level of body dissatisfaction.
