Wal-Mart is a powerful conglomerate that contributes to businesses and people around the world by supporting the economy, creating jobs and improving the lives of millions of people. Wal-Mart is a place where millions of consumers shop daily. When people shop at a major retailer like Wal-Mart, it's obvious they're helping the economy by keeping the nation's largest retail chain for business. Wal-Mart supports the economy by having supercenters around the world that create stores, jobs, revenue and profits. A chain of events occurs that benefits the economy and improves the lives of millions of people. Wal-Mart “has opened an average of 16 new supercenters per month over the past five years.” [Fishman.Pg 3] The company's growth rate is significantly higher than that of any other company in the world. Wal-Mart helps factory workers and businesses by providing them with a multitude of job opportunities. Said from Fishman's passage of the Wal-Mart effect: "It profoundly affects the operations of the companies that supply it and changes not only what they sell, but also changes the way those products are packaged and presented, the factory life. the workers who make the products are like that, sometimes even changing the countries where these factories are located” [Fishman.pg2]. The middle excerpt of the document is expected to revolutionize education in the industry by reducing net losses, increasing profits and going green, which benefits the environment. The retail chain makes capitalism look glorious. Through all the actions the store has taken, they have been capitalistic, but they show people that capitalism is necessary to improve our economy and create jobs. From intense competition that creates supply and demand to creating millions of jobs. Are you now convinced that Wal-Mart is beneficial to our society? Works cited1.
